Local Government - Partnership Working (LSP)
In Wolverhampton the name for our local Strategic Partnership or LSP is The Wolverhampton Partnership. The partnership has a small support staff. They bring together representatives of the public, private and voluntary sectors to develop and oversee the delivery of the Community Plan and the Local Area Agreement. The Community Plan is being superseded by the Sustainable Community Strategy. These are then passed to the council for agreement. Soon, our success in implementing these agreements, plans and strategies will be inspected by central government. They will use a process called a Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA).
The idea is that if all sectors know the targets, we can get better results for the people of Wolverhampton.
The Wolverhampton Partnership also co-ordinates eight thematic partnerships working to the main Partnership. These also have representatives from the voluntary and community, private and public sectors. Chart showing LSP and Thematic Partnerships.
