Avoiding the common pitfalls of acquiring funding
This workshop is suitable for anyone whose role (voluntary or paid) may involve some fundraising, and especially those who have little or no experience in this area. The aim of the workshop is to help you gain the necessary skills to turn your project ideas into a successful funding bid. Guidance will be given on how to complete funding applications.
This practical short course will provide participants with:
-
An understanding of funding from the funders perspective
-
An awareness of the need to have clear aims and objectives for your project (e.g. SMART outcomes)
-
An understanding of the main principles of pulling together a good funding bid
-
An understanding of the importance of monitoring and of exit strategies
-
A presentation from a local funder on what they look for in an application
