Wolverhampton Healthy Growth Partnership
Thursday 17th October 13:00 – 16:00

Dear friends and colleagues,

Data and statistics on Wolverhampton often look bleak – one of many ‘indicators’ for the city is rates of childhood obesity which is highest in the West Midlands and only set to rise. This complex challenge presents an opportunity to ask important questions about how we work together, and especially how we share power with communities. Whilst we have some idea of ‘what works’, we in fact know very little;

Is healthy weight and development for children important to the people of Wolverhampton?

If so, what are some of the things that we would most want to change together?

How can we have connections that help us to keep working on difficult things for long enough to see an impact?

The ‘Wolverhampton Healthy Growth Partnership’ is in its infancy, but it aims to be a platform for thinking and acting on promoting healthy weight for children and families in new ways. We need your help, as people who work with communities, in shaping the Partnership from the outset. If this sounds interesting please consider attending the first open discussion Partnership Summit on Thursday 17th October 13:00 – 16:00 at Bilston Excel.

To register or for any questions about the Partnership please contact Rachel.handley@wolverhampton.gov.uk at the public health team or call 01902 555135.
