Young People’s Advice and Information Service

Base 25 is a multi-agency project providing a range of services and support for young people in the City.

 

We are looking to appoint a bank of Sessional Counsellors to deliver 1-1 counselling in Wolverhampton Secondary Schools

Hours are variable

Rate of pay:   £16.00 per hour

 

Key areas of activity:

To improve the emotional wellbeing of young people aged 11 – 18 who have been referred for a range of issues in order to:

Increase self-esteem

– Increase self-confidence and emotional resilience

– Improve young people’s ability to make effective choices and decisions

– Increase self-awareness and sense of identity

– Develop coping strategies and mechanisms

You must have:

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience of working with vulnerable young people on a 1-1 basis
  • A minimum qualification of Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy from a recognised accredited body or education institution
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of issues that affect young people
  • To undertake clinical supervision of 1.5 hours per month
