WVSC’s Social Prescribing team is looking to fill two voluntary opportunities

Exercise Buddy

Have you got what it takes to motivate someone?

Role: You will accompany the person as they take part in their chosen form of exercise for a fixed length of time. Help the person to overcome any barriers to taking part in the activity (these might be physical barriers such as transport, or emotional barriers such as facing the fear of going somewhere new or practical barriers such as working out how to use lockers), encourage them to keep going, keep them motivated and discuss their goals. Help them to build confidence and good relationships with others taking part in the activity. Help them reach the point where they can attend the activity independently without your ongoing support.
